Following on from the last post, I came across ‘The Satanic Bible’ which was created by Anton LaVey in 1966 the founder of the Church of Satan, which started off as a group called Magic Circle. Today, however the ‘Church’ has various levels of membership and authority, this notion of authority and membership can yet again be comparable to institutionalised religions of today, which kind of defies the purpose of the so-called atheistic followers of the Church of Satan.There is a website titled Church of Satan (how creative), dedicated to this particular sect of Devil worship. I have come to find that the Church of Satan sect is the one that is most easily researched compared to other denominations.
On this website you can download applications to become anactive member of the 'Church' of Satan. I was so tempted to join but you have to pay a registration fee of $200 and in return you get an embossed crimson card declaring you are a member (and before you ask, no it’s not made out of gold, not even plated with it). I’m not sure I’m quite ready to break the bank just yet to become a registered member of the Church of Satan. There were also links which lead to forums where you could write letters to the devil, a bit like prayer requests forms on websites of Christian doctrine.
Here are the foundation tenants laid out in this book:
- Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence.
- Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams.
- Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit.
- Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates.
- Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek.
- Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires.
- Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all fours, because of his "divine spiritual and intellectual development," has become the most vicious animal of all.
- Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification.
- Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as he has kept it in business all these years.
These tenants or ‘commandments’ as such confirm what I talked about in the last post about this atheistic form of Satanism being totally hedonistic.
wow....this stuff is really interesting, especially the tenants of the satanic fatih....the last one (no9) makes you wonder, that the prevalence of such faiths has most likely occured from the decline of mainstream religions, and the worship away from God inevitably pushes people to other places....in this case the satanic faith!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree Magical1 atheists don't believe in a god and when reading all of the commandments just shows that they rely on themselves and only themselves.It also confirms what i have been saying before they want a sense of belonging,it is like an alcoholic anonymous club only here its the rejects that have been dealt the bad card in life and they all have got together and formed a club. Also talk about hypocisy they say they are against religion but what they have created is a religion in it self i mean it's like they've nicked ideas of other relgions you know commandments from moses, church from the christians.
ReplyDeleteIt is clear from (no9) that this so called non religion has been created purely to make profit and money kind of like when Prophet Muhammed's (pbuh) uncles refused to believe him even though they knew how truthful he was because to believe the prophet would mean them loosing money.

ReplyDeleteBut Amera i would like to add, its important to remember that Anton LeVay's sect represents the an atheistic sect of Devil worship and that their are other sects that derive their beliefs from traditional theolgy.
However i totally agree with your comments on the '10 satanic tenants' and the hypocrisy of it, but then again what do you expect from those who call themselves Satanists? The whole notion of of Anton LeVay's Church of Satan is to celebrate the self and look out for number one.
